African Honeymoon Safaris

We arrange safari honeymoons all over Africa. We appreciate that this is the most important holiday you are likely to plan and that expectations are high. We will take the time to really discuss your honeymoon ideas and to understand your aspirations to ensure your African honeymoon more than exceeds your highest wishes.
African safari camps have some of the most romantic honeymoon hideaways you will find anywhere in the world. Small lodges or camps and exclusive beach properties treat you as individuals and are guaranteed to send you home relaxed and invigorated.
There are so many things to think about when planning a safari honeymoon, but one of the most important is to have a couple of days at the start of your trip to relax after your wedding. This will often mean spending a couple of nights on the beach or at a lodge that is not specifically a safari destination – there’s nothing worse than being dragged out of bed at 5 o’clock in the morning when you’re tired from an overnight flight and weeks of wedding planning.
If time allows we would also recommend some time relaxing at the end of your honeymoon as well – it’s very easy to add several nights on the beach after almost any safari destination.
When planning the rest of your safari honeymoon, other considerations might be the particular activities you would like to do; whether you want to canoe, walk or ride.

Styles of accommodation on an African honeymoon also vary widely; there are lodges, tented safari camps and hotels to choose from. Most of these are small, catering for up to 20 people at a time. It is also useful for us to know if your honeymoon ideas include anything specific you would like to see; mountain gorillas for example or the delights of Cape Town.
The time of year you plan to marry will also dictate where we suggest you go on your African honeymoon. In our summer and autumn, you can pretty much pick your safari and beach destination, but during the winter and spring we may advise either Southern or East Africa to make the most of weather and wildlife movements.
Even at the first stage of discussing your honeymoon ideas it is useful for us to have some idea of your budget. We won't always spend all of this if we don’t think it is necessary, but we will advise where we think another hundred pounds or so will make a dramatic difference.
Working with Aardvark Safaris takes the guesswork out of planning your honeymoon safari. It doesn’t cost you more than booking direct and we’re confident that you’re more likely to get a honeymoon which suits the two of you.
